How To Frame IDX
It's as Easy as 1-2-3
Add the Free IDX Frame to your website in 3 easy steps:
- Add your website address to your FlexMLS Profile
- Build your custom IDX Link
- Add the link/html to your website
Let's take a look at these steps.
- Step 1 - Update Profile
- Step 2 - Customize Link
- Step 3 - Update Website
1a. Login to your FlexMLS account
Visit http://armls.flexmls.com and login under your AgentID. Even if you are a broker you'll need to login under a current AgentID. You should see a screen like the one below, go ahead and login now.
1b. Edit your Profile
Now that you are logged in, look down the left menu for the tab "Preferences" and click it to open up more options. The top sub-menu is the next page you want, go ahead and click on "My Profile" and you should see the screen below.

Now click on the "Quick Profile Maintenance" link at the top of this page to edit your profile.
1c. Edit your Profile
Now you should see a screen like the one below. Here is the place we are looking for. You will be able to add or update your website address in the field just below your phone number, take a look at the bottom of this screen shot.

See that field titled "Web Page", that's the one we need to get your website address updated. If it's not in there already go ahead and type in your website address. It should start with something like; http or www and end with something like; .com or .net or .info, etc. There are a lot of these top level domains and any of them is fine, just don't put anything after this part; no page names or directory names, etc. See the Trouble Shooting page for more info on the parts that make up a website address.
1d. Step 1 is finished
OK, you did it. Just submit that page to save your changes into the FlexMLS database and move on to Step 2.
2a. Build your Personal IDX Link
To build your personal IDX link you'll need to add your AgentID to the end of the link so that the IDX website can match your website address (the one you updated in the last step) to your AgentID. It's pretty simple, first we start with the IDX website;
http://armls.killeridx.com/
Then we add a special character (?) the question mark to let the link know we want to pass the page some custom info. After the (?) question mark we tell the page to set the value for AgentID.

Now we just need to add your AgentID to the link, for example; if your AgentID is XX123 then your link would look like this.
http://armls.killeridx.com/?agentid=XX123
(note: ARMLS AgentID's are made up of 5 characters, 2 letters followed by 3 numbers).
2b. Step 2 finished
OK, that's it for Step 2. Just copy down your new IDX Link and move on to Step 3.
3a. Adding IDX Link to your Website
This step can be the easiest or hardest. Before you begin here you'll need to know a little about your website. Pick the Option below that best matches your website type.
If you have any trouble you can find the most common issues in our Trouble Shooting page.
Option 1 - My Website is Built using a popular Real Estate Template
Most popular Real Estate Template companies have a Control Panel or Back Office that you can log into. From here you can typically add your IDX Link right into their system, just look for a section that mentions IDX and copy in the custom IDX Link you created in Step 2.

Option 2 - My Website Uses iFrames
iFrames are very popular and don't require the layout and planning that the older version (frame) did. Here is the HTML code you'll need to copy into your website to add an iframe with the IDX Link inside, feel free to customize the width, height and other attributes as needed.
<iframe src=http://armls.killeridx.com/?agentid=XX123 width=600 height=800></iframe>
(don't forget to put in your AgentID)
Option 3 - My Website Uses Frames
Frames are a very old way of laying out and organizing a website, but they are still used where the designer needs or prefers them. Keep in mind that all <frame> tags must be nested within <frameset> tags and the whole page is designed just to hold other pages. If your website is already in frames then it should be easy to add a new page and replace the main content frame with the IDX Link code. Here is the HTML code you'll need to copy into that frameset to add the IDX Link inside the main content area, feel free to customize the width, height and other attributes as needed.
<frame src=http://armls.killeridx.com/?agentid=XX123 width=600>
(don't forget to put in your AgentID)
Option 4 - I have a Professional Webmaster
Webmasters come in all shapes and sizes, from the uber-guru to the friend of a friend helping me out. Most will know exactly what to do with the IDX Link and those that need a little help or want to know more about the system can re-visit this website. Just give them the IDX link and a link to this website, something like this;
IDX Link: http://armls.killeridx.com/?agentid=XX123 (don't forget put in your AgentID)
